About Zagat Survey

Philanthropy

Zagat Survey's philanthropic outreach is guided by two strategic priorities: alleviating the problem of hunger and education about the culinary arts.

Our official philanthropies are Action Against Hunger, Meals on Wheels, Careers through Culinary Arts Program (C-CAP) and The Culinary Institute of America (CIA).

Action Against Hunger

We are proud to support the international humanitarian organization Action Against Hunger (www.actionagainsthunger.org), a group that saves the lives of malnourished children while providing families sustainable access to safe water and long-term solutions to hunger. In emergency situations of conflict, natural disaster, and chronic food insecurity, Action Against Hunger has pursued its vision of a world without hunger for nearly three decades, saving untold thousands of lives.

Meals on Wheels

We are proud to support Meals on Wheels Association of America (www.mowaa.org). The mission of Meals On Wheels is to provide visionary leadership and professional training and to develop partnerships that will ensure the provision of quality nutrition services. A principal goal of the New York chapter is to deliver hot meals to the homebound elderly.

Careers through Culinary Arts Program

Careers through Culinary Arts Program, also known as C-CAP (www.ccapinc.org), is a not-for-profit organization that offers a culinary curriculum enrichment program in public high schools in depressed areas. Providing culinary skills to underprivileged high school kids empowers them to pursue careers in the culinary arts. Each year, C-Cap gives out millions of dollars in scholarships to professional culinary schools and assists C-CAP students with job placement.

The Culinary Institute of America

The Culinary Institute of America (www.ciachef.edu) is the nation's preeminent, private, not-for-profit college dedicated to providing professional culinary education. Excellence, leadership, professionalism, ethics and respect for diversity are the core values that guide the school's efforts. CIA has a proven record of providing its students with the general knowledge and specific skills necessary to live successful lives and to grow into positions of influence and leadership in their chosen profession. Zagat Survey® supports the CIA by sponsoring a lecture series on the importance of service and hospitality.
