Buzz in the West Village is that Alexandra (455 Hudson St.; 212-255-3838) will be gaining a sibling two doors down at the corner of Hudson and Leroy. The new restaurant, according to Eran Shahaf, who co-owns the spot with his chef/wife, Liz Arana, will open in the winter and include a wood-burning oven, though “not necessarily only for pizza.” It will open at 8 AM for breakfast and serve American-inspired cuisine through lunch and dinner. The biggest attraction, however, is the back garden, which Shahaf says has more square footage than Alexandra in its entirety. “Which is great,” he adds, “because we will be able to deal with things we couldn’t in Alexandra because it’s so small.” Like what? “Let’s just say I’m thinking of naming it Strollers and Dogs,” he jokes.
