Set to open around Halloween, Stecchino, an American restaurant with Italian flair (and a pre-Prohibition theme), gets its name from the Roberto Benigni film Johnny Stecchino. The folks behind Chelsea Grill and the two Riposo wine bars are involved in the project, which will be located in the former Old San Juan space at 765 Ninth Ave. between 51st and 52nd Streets (212-397-2377).
