The fast-developing Logan Circle East neighborhood can’t wait for Veranda, a Mediterranean restaurant and bar, to start pouring martinis and dishing up moderately priced Greek and Italian fare when it opens next week; for those who don’t want to sidle up to the long, polished-wood bar, there’s plenty of seating outdoors – it’s not called Veranda for nothing (1100 P St. NW; 202-234-6870).

Onje, a French-accented Caribbean restaurant and bar/lounge, is slated for a winter opening in the Dupont Circle space most recently occupied by 21 P; a spiffy interior redo will set the scene for exotic small plates and mixed drinks, while its glass-enclosed sidewalk seating has always been a popular neighborhood perch (2100 P St. NW).
