The name of Klopa Grill & Cafe, the Serbian BYO in Lincoln Square, is slang for ‘good food,' and that's exactly what the affordable lunch and dinner menus strive to deliver – think sweet and savory crêpes, steaks, kebabs and barbecued meats, along with fruit juices and pungent coffee; the casual neighborhood setting is decorated with mirrors and food photography, bare tables and traditional wood chairs.

Well, pace yourself and plan ahead because some restaurants, like (k)new, already have plans to get you in a celebratory Mardi Gras spirit. On February 16 the Logan Square BYO plans to cook up a Cajun-inspired four-course dinner with highlights including crawfish bisque, crab cakes and rabbit loin gumbo ($35, 773-772-7721). And if you want more options, you're in luck: the bon temps will keep on rolling at these other festive Cajun spots.

Believe it or not, there’s another big holiday happening on February 14 – Chinese New Year. River North's Sunda will be celebrating the lunar year of 4708, otherwise known as the Year of the Tiger, by offering a special five-course dinner February 8–14. Expect dishes such as crab and asparagus egg drop soup, salt-and-pepper pork and "five happiness" lo-mein, and, on the 14th, entertainment in the form of dragon dances ($45 per person; 312-644-0500). If that doesn't suit your fancy though, check out our Top Chinese restaurants below for some other options.
