The guide includes ratings and reviews of 2,034 eateries in the greater Los Angeles area, Orange County, Palm Springs and Santa Barbara. It is based on the input of 10,311 food-savvy Angelenos who ate out 3.4 times per week (an average that dropped from 2009 when it was 3.7 times per week). I am an Orange County resident and cannot understand why you only have 56 OC restaurants in the 2009 guide. You list more restaurants in SB (87) than in OC!!!! I have always participated in the survey (and appreciated receiving a free guide) but after getting the 2009 issue I did not bother to do the survey for 2010. Does the 2010 guide also ignore Orange County?

• MattH1155434 replied on Oct. 28, 2009 at 8:44 PM I am with you Bob. I live in the OC and there is no way we should have gotten the short shift that we did in the printed guide. There are almost 500 options in the on-line guide here in the OC, and barely 15% make the grade for the print edition. LA has about 2200 in the on-line edition, and what 70% or so make the grade? We got hosed down here behind the Orange Curtain.

There are ratings and reviews for 494 OC restaurants on ZAGAT.com and on all of our mobile products. There are also several hundred additional “member added” restaurants that have been added by our OC surveyors. All in, there are 716 OC restaurants listed. OC dining keeps getting better every year and we intend to keep on surveying here. Vote in a Featured Survey and get a free ZAGAT.com membership!
