I was also there the night of the street brawl mentioned by joes1369037. The rudeness was in the sense of entitlement and obnoxious behavior from the "lovely" people he was chatting with at the bar, including one young lady that had a mouth that would make a sailor blush and a tone with all the subtlety of a dentist's drill. Several guests complained to the bartender about the loud swearing and the guests were asked to keep their voices down.

We started by having cocktails at a bar table while waiting for our dinner friends. The drinks were ok, beer a bit warm but seemed like a nice atmosphere. 5 minutes into being there, we witnessed a street brawl of women who spilled out from the salon across the street. We chatted with 3 lovely people at the bar. It was then that they were told if we wanted more drinks we would have to lower our voices. Rude, YES. After all, it is a bar.

Chick's Wine Bar and Cafe, a great South Philly secret has been looming in darkness for years! The original Chick's Bar and Back room has been preserved and brought into modern day style so perfectly. Walking in you feel as if you've stepped into a bit of a time warp....the beautiful painted tin tiled wall...the gorgeous Cherry bar, and pictures reminiscent of a time when *ahem* women did not venture in to such places! Imagine that! The food

This is about as pleasant as it gets. The bartender is very knowledgeable about their splendid selection of French and Italian wines. Jimmy and his sous chef put together absolutely delectable flavors. You must try the scallops and the soft shell crab. Finally they have a class act cheese list and a wine to go with each selection.
