While its opening and decor were much-hyped, I wasn't as impressed by the decor as I expected to be. The idea behind 1 Oak was to return to the clubs of earlier days that weren't just giant meat-markets were anyone got in just by buying their way in, and in that respect 1Oak has succeeded. This place is great., if you can get in. Catering to NYC's "in crowd" of models, celebrities and social climber, the place is bound to be the top of anyone's list. Great music, great vibe
