The art of aloha is the rule at this treasure cove tucked between the hussel and bussel of Waikiki and the natural beauty of a South Sea setting that will always be "old Hawaii."
My wife and I spent our 25th anniversary at Halekulani. We didn't want to leave. Rooms weren't the most modern we'd ever experienced, but certainly were elegantly comfortable. Service and dining were impeccable, beyond any we'd ever experienced. We'd return in a heartbeat.
Calm oasis in the middle of very busy international city. Room decoration might be even too calm. No color anywhere, no pictures on walls. This might be the only hotel in Waikiki where there are no large groups. It has upscale, luxury, personal feeling. Every member of staff is honestly friendly and not because management says they have to be (like in Ritz-Carlton)
The only place to consider on Waikiki. So different than the others--relaxing, really Hawaiian.
a beautiful spot, but an overrated hotel. this is not 5 star, but more 4 star rating. beautiful pool, but the beach front is a bit small and subdued perhaps by a bay or inlet. still, a very nice place
