An Army museum of moderate interest if you like that stuff. But stay for the beach; the quite side of Waikiki beach and you can rent lots of beach toys--kayaks, surf boards, floats, etc.

Absolutely beautiful beach. Park provides a peaceful oasis inside the hubbub of Honolulu.

Fort DeRussy Park fronts the best section of beach in Waikiki. The landscaping is very nice. The large park contains tennis courts, running trails, a sand volleyball court as well as barbeque grills and picnic tables under the trees. It is wide and sandy and not too crowded. There is also ample affordable parking.

Great Park facilities right on Waikiki Beach. From the shady lawn spaces to the exercise track, beach volleyball courts, and BBQ grills you'll run out of energy before you run out of ideas of what to do. Check out the Museum at the end of the property for a great retrospective of Hawaii in WWII. A real relaxing royal time.
