The zoo is very compact and city location are surprising. They have all the essential zoo animals but nothing extraordinary, probably due to the Houston weather climate. It is great for a area but not as great as others throughout the country.
Very hot most of the year so visit in the mornings.
the Houston zoo is great for families with children. The zoo even has its own children's center which has a petting zoo, carousel, and more. The grounds were cleanly but the bathrooms could use some help. Overall, this was a great experience in houston.
