The whole place smelled like disinfectant. It's either clean or I just missed them cleaning up the crime scene.

Portions are huge-enough to feed several. Prices are equally high. Classic jewish deli fare-the pastrami sandwiches good, the chicken soup bland, wait staff unpleasant, location great. Go for the experience at the location. Otherwise, there are lots of other great places in NYC to eat.

If you suspend disbelief and are drawn in by the big neon sign, it can be a wonderful experience. I enjoyed Thanksgiving dinner there with a HUGE open faced turkey sandwich. After reflecting on the meal over the past several days I can say that the deli meat was solid but ordinary, the mashed potatoes were instant, and overall the main course was average. The cheesecake however, was the memorable part. That was the best NY cheesecake we tasted.

Looking for mediocre food, high prices and servers who are doing you a favor? Then try the Roxy Deli. Located right on Bway in the TS area, this tourist magnet uses its great looking marque outside to squeeze you in. The food was passable if I was in Des Moines, but to charge like Stage or Carnegie with recooked hot dogs, cold fries and that charmless, short haired waitress who would be better working in a welfare office is too much for me.

TOURIST TRAP!!! WE LIVE IN LONG ISLAND AND WERE HUNGRY SO WE STOPPED IN FOR A BITE. OK SO THE SANDWICHES ARE HUGE BUT EXPENSIVE. PLACE IS DIRTY. A WAITER ACTUALLY REMOVED A DIRTY FORK FROM OUR TABLE WHEN HE SAT US, WALKED TO THE SIDE AND SCRAPED THE DIRT OFF THE FORK WITH HIS NAIL AND PLACED IT BACK ON MY 4 YEAR OLD NIECES NAPKIN. NEVER AGAIN!!!
