This was one of the best Italian restaurants I have ever been to. The atmosphere was very nice, our server was very good, and the food was delicious. The nutmeg in the Alfredo sauce was a splendid surprise and the pasta combo was delicious. The wine selection was sparse, but our the house choice complimented our meals perfectly.

Disappointing despite the charming space. Dreadful service. Bland food. Our waiter forgot my partner's soup entirely prior to his entr�e (a filet ordered medium rare but served well-done); my lasagna was served cold. We wanted to return both entr�es to the kitchen, but it was over 30 minutes before our waiter returned to our table to check on us. The waiter was apologetic, but the poor service continued and he made no offer of restitution.

Absolutely one of the worst Italian restaurants! When you walk in, the ambiance is appealing--warm, well-kept. However, appearances are deceiving. Service was slow, food was slow. We waited for an hour for our food b/c accdg. to the server, there was only one cook! When the food arrived,the "Fettucini Alfredo" tasted like nutmeg, over boiled pasta, cream tossed together. It's difficult to mess up alfredo, but it seemed easily done here. To top it

Anna Maria's has consistently excellent Italian food. I might even say the best in DC. The wine list is also solid. The owner is originally from NEPA and welcomes customers into his restaurant as if it were his own living room. Go check it out...you won't be sorry!
