Lovely place, very nice service, potentially interesting food but very unevern Some dishes unusually wonderful but many "muddy" with too many flavors and lack of clear direction on the tongue. Chef needs to clarify his/her direction. Too expensive for the less then perfect meal.
The food was good. The service was very good. The decor was OK. The menu seems limited.
Calm, pleasant ambiance. Server was top-notch, excellent menu descriptions and suggestions. My companions each had a caesar salad and entree. The scallops were superb, ditto for the sirloin steak. Just enough "flair" to the preparation. I had the shrimp appetizer - too many flavors overpowered the 4 plump shrimp; the toasted quinoa was unpleasantly gritty. Soft shell crab w/ crab cake tempura was divine, as were ice cream & cookies, creme brulee.
I went for restaurant week with two friends. Even with reduced prices, the meal was close to $40 each. While the food was excellent, I don't think I'd pay full price for it. Service was a problem. My friend was told a sauce came on the side; it actually surrounded all the food in a pool. My friend complained and the waiter muttered "jesus" as he snatched the plate. We called a manager who comped the meal, but it's not what you expect in a nice p
Great foods are perfectly prepared, and deserts are to die for. The space is handsome, and a surprising edge is provided by faint rock music in the background, but it risks being drowned out by the noise at peak times.
