Decor rating is for high Aztec-maiden-in-peril kitsch factor. Reliably good interior Mexican and TexMex for 50 years; absolutely worth the trip to far East Austin but only 10 minutes from downtown.

For true Mexican food, El Azteca is the place to go. Although it doesn't have much in the decor category, the margaritas are strong and the food is impressive. Besides, who doesn't like complimentary sherbert at the end of a meal?
