We recently went to Comfort after reading a very good review of the restaurant in The New York Times and found the food and the overall experience very disappointing. Vegetables that should have been fresh and hot were cold and stale; entrees were overcooked, bland, under-seasoned and sad looking. The restaurant appeared unfinished, as if they ran of funds, and management seemed inexperienced and disconnected from the customers.
Sadly, after reading a great review - the experience was less than satisfactory. The table was close to the door and the in and out traffic caused us to freeze regularly. The service was sub-par, it took an hour for us to receive our food, after several attempts to give us the wrong food - and then, the food was really NOT good. This was a very disappointing experience and there are limited options in Hastings, but this one is off the list.
YUM! My favourite! My experience is if it's organic 'healthy food', it just tastes bad. At Comfort you can eat health food & not even know it. The rotisserie Amish chicken is awesome. They deliver, which we utilize at least 2x a week. My Chow Zelda refuses to eat anything but their roasted chicken. We pretty much all feel that way around here. Hmm, I'm thinking I'll call them right now. Update: They moved across the street to a larger location.
We look forward to their move into a larger space.
good organic freshly made food!
