Conversation isn't easy over the (often live) music, and don't be surprised if a regular, recognizing a tourist, r offers you a drink. Food is delicious and the menus are thankfully not required to list calorie info. I recommend the chicken soup- as a meal-it is a quart, contains 1/4 chicken, not to mention an ear of corn and a few potatoes.

If your looking for a place to represent Puerto Rican cuisine Sofrito is the restaurant of choice. From entrance to exit the food and service was excellent. My Wife and I fell in love with the variety of dishes that really caught the Hispanic culture from empanadas to the roast pork. The decor is contemporary with a elegant touch. Overall a fantastic restaurant that we recommend.

Enjoyed the food, atmosphere and service. Was pleasantly surprised on all fronts. Waiters were quite attentive, but not overly so. Would definitely recommend and go back. By the way, the roast pork was to die for.....be prepared to take food home with you, there is no way you could eat it all!! P.S. - I am a native New Yorker of Caribbean parentage.....this place does the Caribbean proud!!

Zero class at this place and food is about street vendor quality. I am Puerto Rican and I can tell you that this place is run by people that give us all a bad name. First my wife was harassed by the door man for no reason. The staff was not accommodating at all...asked for a dish to be made without meat, they flatly refused. Finally, I was escorted to back office by a bouncer and waitress to count money and "settle our bill" ($1100)...unreal.
