I have been dining at Zenkichi for the last 2 years. We've introduced it to people who are not adventurous when it comes to food, but after trying the Omakase menu, have walked out transformed. The Omakase menu is the best bet (a 10 course dinner for ~$50 that changes monthly). They have a great sake sampler that I also like to pair along with my dinner. The decor is sexy and romantic. Each booth is private. The service is excellent. A must dine
It's almost impossible to get disappointed with their food and service. All the seats have either a curtain or screen, which makes this place perfect for intimate dates and special occasions, and it is great for business meetings as well (just make sure you tell them so they don't put you in a small "intimate" booth). Their food and service is excellent even for Japanese standard. Whoever you take there will be very impressed.
Interesting decor, the tasting menu has a little bit of everything - but is not necessarily very inventive. The portions are small, and may leave you somewhat unsatisfied despite the 8 courses (unlike Omkase in other places)
A true gem, Zenkichi has an innovative dining concept and excellent food to match it. Privacy that could be surpassed only in your own bedroom, a masterpiece of a seasonal menu, service fit for a king at the ring of a bell-you CAN have it all. Just be careful not to get lost in the dark maze of curtained-off rooms on your way to the bathroom.
A dim light is the only beacon to this absolute treasure in Wiliamsburg. The modern japanese offering was more tantalizing than just the experience of wasabi being the ultimate culinary orgasm, it comes on quick and then it's over. The interior is nothing short of romantic and mysterious. One light in the distance opened a world of pleasure for the gorgeous experience of Zenkichi.
