We at at Margot on a Wednesday night. Service was fine, but the food was not very good. We shared the calamari appetizer, which was okay. My boyfriend ordered the salmon for his entree and requested that it be prepared medium. I ordered the scallops for my entree. The salmon was dried out overcooked and my scallops were also overcooked, slightly better than the salmon. The polenta that came with my scallops was almost inedible.
My wife and I have eaten here 3 times and each time the food has been excellent. Menu varies by season so there is something new every 6 months. Warm goat cheese salad is great, as is the scallops entree. Atmosphere is like a bistro with good but not too loud chatter. Eat at the little bar to see all the action in the open kitchen. A great BYOB on the eastern Main Line.
Excellent neighborhood restaurant with friendly service and a nice menu. A pleasure to dine here.
Very appealing setting with a warm, friendly environment. Food and service were excellent. Sweet potato pancake was tasty, but more like a mashed potato pancake than a latke, so be prepared. Rigatoni Bolognese was one of the best-tasting Bolognese dishes I've had in many years, and my wife's crab cake was top notch. Chocolate cake was intense, rich and huge. Even the decaf coffee was good and strong.
Been 3 times and enjoyed each visit. Great food, service to match, friendly, solid and consistent preparation. Portions will fulfill any appetite. You'll go back!!
