I took a group of 8 poeple to celebrate my wife's burthday .Our party turned to a nightmare. The food was over cooked very salty ,the couscous smelled bad and there was no taste in it .Don't ask about the service; The worst ever.I never had such a bad experience .
I don't recommend this place to you.

DON'T CONFUSE WITH THE REAL MARRAKESH ON NY AVE. This place is a total let-down. The food was mediocre, passable Moroccan flavors, but poorly prepared and would have been disappointing at half the price. The music was so loud it was impossible to make conversation. We asked three people to turn the music down, and my friend had to leave early when she developed a splitting headache. The service would have been deficient even at a less $$$ place.

Kind of expensive, fun a fun atmosphere for going out with a group of people for a nice, exotic meal

Based in the Middle East, we visited Washington, D.C. and googled for an Arabic dining experience. The search for top drawer Middle Eastern dining revealed the Marrakesh Restaurant. We consulted Zagat which gave us an address in Dupont Circle, but we were totally disappointed. Our concierge at the Marriott told us that THE Marrakesh is on New York Avenue and has been an icon in the city for years. Bad News, Zagat!

I know Moroccan food from many visits to Morocco and Paris, and this was a shameful imitation. The bastilla was dry and tough. The chicken couscous was even dryer. When I asked for the traditional "bouillon" that's used to moisten it, he brought a dense, greasy glop, possibly dregs from a roasting pan. They did have harissa to spice it up. And the belly dancer was delightful.
