Creative Indian takeout. Revised 1/2010: Same chef and nearly the same menu as the now closed, top-rated Surya India (2nd on 2009 LA Zagat among Indian restaurants), but prices are lower (minus the beer/wine license). The lower fat, no fat dishes are more healthy than any other Indian spot we've found.

It's a quick pick-up kind of joint, but with full sit-down prices. And the food isn't especially impressive.

Based on all the positive reviews, I had to check it out. They charge the same as a fine sit down authentic restaurant, but stuff is served up in a cafeteria style setting on foam plates, bowls and plastic utensils. I felt upset we spent $30 for dinner for two, the service was lousy, the food mediocre and the portions very small. They charge $8.95 for grilled chicken tikka.
