New owner, new name (Guen)same indifferent service. Takes a long time to get your food, even when you're the only customer. I've been there for lunch two courses for $7 -$12). Disappointing sushi. They use surimi instead of real crab for CA rolls and put too much sauce on the shrimp tempura rolls. VERY loud, blaring pop music, which they did turn down when asked.
Sushi was fresh and interesting - slightly different than what you typically get in Evanston. Service was attentive without hovering. Staff seemed to know the regulars and what they had eaten and liked before. Will return to try the entrees based on the recommendation of the people at the next table. Will be a shame if it gets too popular - could feel a little cramped if it was full.
Although still undiscovered judging by the few occupied tables, our party of four found the menu full of interesting choices, the actual food was excellent and the service was attentive and classy without being intrusive. We will certainly visit many more times.
