Dined on 3 separate occasions and found Lola's to consistently excel in all areas. Overall, well executed fare with creativity and a bit of an edge. The highlights of all 3 meals were the appetizers, where the kitchen truly shines. Have always requested an early seating, and never had a complaint about the service. The “overpriced” comments are a real stretch - maybe for Cleveland, not for anywhere esle. Unique and thoroughly satisfying. Love it
A wonderful restaurant worth the hype. Gorgeous interior with an impressive bar and wine selection. Decor was very sophisticated and modern. The beef cheek pierogies (a Symon specialty) were positively divine! Not necessary a place for vegetarians - Symon is known to work with unusual cuts of meat (and create fabulous dishes). Food tends to be on the salty side, but with reason. I reccommend any of the desserts, especially peanut butter pudding.
Loved the alabaster bar; very good martini. Service was efficient and knowledgeable; good wine by the glass advice. Food was very nice.
"True Foodie" must have gone to a different place. I've dined at Lola at least 5 times and it has always been stellar. The cuisine is creative, tasty, and expertly prepared and the service is usually at least good. Most of the time, it is very good to excellent. I think that too many bland-palated people go here not realizing Michael Symon's over-the-top style and get caught off guard. Advice: Order a steak.
Sooooo over rated and overpriced. I don't know what this guy was thinking. Food is ridiculous concotions you would never eat and the portions are for people with eating disorders. Service was awful. When we reserved they asked if this was for a special occasion and we said my birthday. They made us wait 45 minutes and never so much as wished me happy birthday. His other restuarant Lolita is 100 times better.
