A quiet night at the restaurant gave the waiter and I time to talk. Following his suggestion I ordered the "dry" Riesling. Excellent. The Butternut Squash soup followed, very nice. The entr�e was the Ahi tuna. One of the best I've ever had. The wasabi reduction was a wonderful surprise and paired perfectly with the Ahi. I would definitely go back.

Valentine's day 2009 overwhelmed the wait staff. Polite but inattentive. The food was exceptional. Perhaps because of the crush the risotto was as perfect as one would want, exuding cream with the tiniest hint of crunch and no mush. No time on the warming tray. The 5 spice duck was almost perfect - lovely med-rare, too much salt in the sauce and too few dried cherries. The wine list is small but very thoughtful with a good mix of world sources.

Located in the midst of a block of restaurants in San Diego's Gaslamp Quarter, Aqu Blu is an unassuming, yet outstanding new addition to the dining scene here. The offerings are both interesting and creative, with not a few innovations in traditional dishes. The Lobster Ravioli in a delicate Carrot Ginger Sauce and the Blackened Sea Scallps with an Eel Glaze are succulent and good to the last bite. The service is spectacular. The waitstaff is
