what a great place, excellent service, excellent food and very nice with our kids, 8 and 11 years old (were treated as valuable guests)

Best wine list I have ever seen ANYWHERE in the world. The trouble is that San Diego typically does not support this style of fine dining. With 20-30 covers a night, how long can they last?

Had heard great things about this restaurant. Initially, very attentive service. The risotto was very flavorful, but a tiny portion for about $20. The $40 lamb course would have been good if it had arrived hot. By then , there were no servers around. They finally showed up when they wanted to get us to leave. Great wine list - overpriced, but with some great obscure gems at a reasonable price. Would have been better off going to Amaya .

Tjhe service was great. That is about all I can say nice about the place. The decor is tragic. They weren't sure if they were going for Roman, Italian or California Casual so they did all three with a little "West Elm" thrown in. The food was mediocre and over priced. I would only go back if they turned this place into an IN and Out. If you are in the area, A.R. Valentine and Wineselllar & Brasserie are excellent alternatives.

To be honest I was not quite sure how it would turn out and I had the price tag in mind. But by the time all was said and done they gave us about 4 free "courses" and i made sure that we weren't being treated differently. Everyone gets these. The best one was the Gougere filled with Mascarpone cheese. My girlfriend loved the free "pre-dessert." I have never heard of a pre dessert before. The service was excellent and it wasn't stuffy. Great.
