Unfortunately. restaurant is now CLOSED and not expected to reopen. Former chefs are opening a new place in North Beach in August.

This restaurant was closed for a time and is now reopened with a new chef and staff. The dining room is still marvelously elegant and remains one of the few places in town where quiet conversation is possible. The food and service, however, have suffered greatly and are now worse than mediocre. The lovely but tiny bar is still wonderful, however, and the bar snacks are okay.

Can't be beat for a lovely dinner--excellent, fresh food, well presented. One of the few places where you can carry on a conversation.
