Ruth's in Pittsburgh taught me what steak is all about. Meat is the best, well marbled and flavorful. My favorite is the rib eye, although strip and t-bone are excellent. Steak is grilled and served sizzling in butter. Their system calls for food to be served immediately, so all comes out together and quite hot. Sides are enough to share. For 2 people, one veg and one potato are fine. Spinach au gratin is one of our favorites.

Even seated at the bar (because of the popularity of this restaurant on the weekends) we found the service and atmosphere to be very pleasant. The food was outstanding.

Has gone downhill. Used to be very good and the food is still fine but the service has gotten worse and worse. Last time we were there I had to keep reminding our waitress to refill my drink and my steak was a little more charred then I like but over all it was pretty good.

Best steak in the 'Burgh prepared broiled to perfection. Best sure to try their shoe string fries and the creme brulee for dessert!
