On our first trip to Coronado two years ago we discovered Brigantine & loved it so much we returned a few days later. This year we returned, keen to enjoy the restaurant again. Oh dear! This is surely the only restaurant my family has visited that has managed to get nachos so very very wrong! The (two) crispy shrimp were soggy, the ribs dry and devoid of sauce. Each family member in turn pushed away their plate and vowed not to return.

Inconsistent seafood. We try every several months to see if they get it because they are convenient. You never know what is going to show up. They use some farm raised fish that is not noted on the menu and have trouble not overcooking swordfish and halibut. The bar is a lively time.

To die for Nachos appetizer made with homemade potato chips--not for the cholesterol conscious. Swordfish fresh, perfectly cooked as in moist! Clam chowder not bad, but not the best I have had. Service exceptional. All in all, a very good choice.

The Shelter Island location was very close to our hotel and we were looking for some good seafood. We weren't disappointed. It was quiet for a Saturday night; between Christmas and New Years. We would go back next time we're in the San Diego area.

Its a safe bet specially late at night when not too many restaurants are open. Food is pretty good but could improve.
