Good solid french food in a quaint house in Montrose. I had the duck and my husband the lamb. Both dishes were good, but not anything different or unique to rave about. We liked the place, but had a couple of small issues. We had made a reservation but still had to wait for some time in a cramped entry area with others who were waiting. Once seated, the staff was very friendly and accommodating.

Detailing for diners. Homey, informal and truly French (including some patrons), what stands out at this traditional bistro are the many small, time-consuming preparation steps which are largely skipped elsewhere to simplify the line. Seasonal appetizers and mains vary from good to some of the best we've ever had, including exceptional duck confit. Now Houston's best for cosmopolitan foodies.

The food was very good traditional French. This restaurant provides something that is often lacking in Houston's finer restaurants: rich flavors without the heaviness of old school French cooking (i.e. massive amounts of butter, salt and demi-glace). The service was attentive, however, the atmosphere is a little odd on the outside, but nice on the inside. Have eaten here at least ten times. Always consistent and always awesome.

They seem like nice people, but most of what we've sampled missed the mark.
