It is very easy to get in without a reservation these days. The front bar was closed and the atmosphere of 7 tables on a Tuesday evening provided a very quiet atmosphere. Service and main courses are good. The popovers and sides are exceptional.

Though the mushroom risotto & the lacquered short rib were tasty, there didn't seem to be much that I couldn't make better at home. BLT=Big Letdown Tonight. I would come back just to have the complementary chix liver & popovers but I'm sure the staff wouldn't be pleased. And though our waitress was nice to us, the patrons, she was blatantly snide w/the rest of the staff. tsk tsk tsk.

Returned to try again, and this time the food and service were very much improved, which was a pleasant surprise as my first visit was disappointing on both fronts. I've enjoyed L.T.'s food beginning with his days at Cello, so I was happy to have a second experience here. Im hoping my initial visit was just an aberration on an off-night.

Good (but certainly not great) steaks. Side dishes (all a la carte) were average. Service was abominable! This was especially glaring on a slow Monday night in the middle of a recession. Waiter disappeared for 30 minutes at a time leaving us with no service at all. Prices are quite high and when factoring in the non exceptional food and horrible service there is no reason to ever go back!
