I love this place although the service is pretty terrible. I have been to a couple of the HIX restaurants and that seems consistent. A great menu that leaves you salivating, perfectly executed dishes that deliver wonderful flavors and a very good wine list to perfectly complement everything. If Mr Hix is listening please fix the service issues and then you will have perfection!

A good place if you're in the mood for oysters and red meat. In the heart of London's meat market, the ambience of the area is extended into the restaurant.

Confidence in quality of the ingredients and simple, unadorned presentation. Starter of salmon perfect in smokiness, texture, intensity of flavour, no need for garnish. Porterhouse matched all expectations: excellent roasted, toasty flavour on the outside, good marbling and irresistibly bovine fat, luxuriously rich, supple and tender. Great atmosphere - buzzing but not frenzied or deafening. Wine too warm, but quickly rectified on request. Great!
