While 10 Downing has the appearance of a roadhouse, the food is skillfully presented and absolutely delicious. My skate wing had the appearance of a fish swimming on the plate! I ate every morsel. If noise bothers you, go early!

We came in for brunch and were decidedly NOT impressed. The service was mediocre at best, and the food was really ordinary and uninspired for the pricetag. Example: The "Citrus Salad" which was $12 consisted of three orange slices with mint leaves sprinkled on them. They came over in the middle of the meal and moved the umbrella we were seated under to another table, after we chose the table with the umbrella. There are better places nearby.

I'm not sure why many are raving about this place. The noise level was off the charts, and all the dishes we ordered were going for subtle and overshot to bland. Tired presentation, too; I'm so tired of a small stack of food in an overly large dish on a small table. Interesting wine list, though.

located at hotspot on 6th ave where sidewalk seating everywhere. yet if food matters and not just people-watching this is where i go. food is fantastic, just a bit of ego now and then.....
