Met up with 2 other couples and were not impressed with what our $85 bought us. Lots of hidden fees, nickel and diming us to death. Couldn't split servings without a $10 split plate fee being added onto an already tiny dish of meats that cost $25. Couldn't share the fondue served for 4 among the 6 of us without adding on another $17 for the additional two people (although there was no increase in amount of food). Way overpriced for what you get.
I love making fondue at home but more and more we go here to have it done right. The combo of bread and cheese on a cold winter night is tough to beat. My wife and I also love the pace of the meal -- we can take our time, enjoy the wine (usually the MacMurray Pinot Gris or the red Zin) and just wait and enjoy what comes next. It can be expensive but well worth it for a date night or a just a quiet night away from the kids.
Food: Is ok; some of the cheese fondue's are really good; but the broth and meats can be blandish tasting. The deserts fondues are a bit too heavy/rich. Typically I only want one piece of chocolate covered bliss; not 10 ... The atmosphere is the main reason you go here; small dark, private cubbies with circle seats. Dinner is celebrated as a 2 hour event; not the typical quick 30min rush you get at most chains.
Extremely extremely expensive! I would come much more often if it did not cost so much! Food is very good though, very clean restaurant, nice decor, I can't say much about the food because that is based on you. The coolest thing about fondue is that it is interactive! Very good food but servers can be pretty annoying...
Perky waitress who didn't get tired of repeating the same thing to us that she has to say every night. Tons of food. I normally hate chains, but this one had a twist which made it fun.
