The boathouse in Ossining New York is a great place to eat and just relax and have a cocktail. The food is phenomenal, the service is exceptional. Warm and Friendly are 2 words that describe the atmosphere best. When dining at The Boathouse, you are not limited to what's offered on the menu. The owners, Val Polidoro and Scott London and the chef are ALWAYS willing to work with your tastes and preferences. The risotto is AMAZING! A

Gorgeous, relaxing setting (aside from the location of the parking lot, which sometimes partially blocks the view). Pleasant, fresh, flavorful informal salads, sandwiches, soups, shellfish, etc. Prev poster, we do not have tuna or lobster in the Hudson. ;-) Friendly, gracious service. Have dined here well over a dozen times and will continue to return, as do most of the people I know. Much less pricey than other on-the-Hudson restaurants.

Given their pleasant waterfront setting, their focus seems misguided.l They could be the ideal seafood restaurant. Why no fried clams? no lobster roll? No cioppino? No seared tuna? The chef seems in another (wrong headed and thoroughly average) world. Chilean sea bass?? Only the misguided eat this boring and ENDANGERED fish. This place has potential, but with the current chef is a big disappointment.
