I love the W Hartford place, especially in the summer. The best is Mon-Thurs. night for their 10 tapas for 1 price. Fri. and Sat. night after 9pm or so the place becomes more of a bar, and not great for dining. They have great outdoor seating with walls but open roof. It's great to get a bottle of wine and sit out, and have waves of tapas brought out. The flan is also good. Their lunch used to be great, but last time was there they cut back menu.

Disappointed. We waited almost 2 years to try this place and it was mediocre at best. Mojito was certainly not to die-for – mint/lime/sugar wasn’t even mashed together. Food was edible, but certainly nothing special. Some of it was brought out cold. They probably just prepare a bunch in the back and sever them as ordered. Service was good – we had a really nice waitress, but it was so loud I couldn’t even hear. Overall experience was poor.

Although the place is noisy and packed with Thirty Somethings on the prowl at the bar, Barcelona delivers superb tapas accompanied by an excellent mostly Spanish wine list. The crispy squid, the Swiss chard with chick peas, the lamb chops with moresco sauce all stand out.

I must amend my previous review. We dined at the Greenwich Barcelona last night or should we say tried to dine there. It was a disaster. Let's start with the noise which was unbearable and made even worse by a stereo with loud, pounding dance music. Our server disappeared for long stretches and our wait for main courses was so long that they were compted by the house. Run away not toward this Barcelona. PS the food was ok.

Better Catalan food than on the Rambla. The tapas combo for 4 people is a bargain. The dishes with chorizo, with dates & with eggs in a casserole, were especially good. Spinach with chickpeas in cumin was good the potato dish & venison sausage less successful. The higher priced Rioja by the glass is a very good wine & goes with the heartier meat dishes. Multiple servers make for warm dishes & efficient service, One plate was removed early.
