We were three for lunch. The food was boring and predictable. We had the usual sandwiches and salads. One had a gooey but tasty chowder. Nothing subtle;nothing outstanding. The roasted turkey BLT was pretty good; chicken pannini -a mess of flavors-too heavy; ceasar with three shrimp just ordinary. Back for dinner with a friend. So much better. Great meat loaf, swordfish, banana cream pie. Beauiful decor. good service. Great bar scene. Noisy fun.

I have been at Post 390 twice and found both time very attentive service, food was excellent and not too expensive, a very full menu with almost anything you could think of downstairs is a scene and it is great for Boston. The fireplaces add a lot and the two private dining rooms makes it a place to use for meetings as well as just plain fun. It is a little noisy but there are some quiet spots. Will go back again and again.

Varied menu selections with varied price range. Mini-pizza-to-lamb-to-burgers. Attentive service. Not for a quiet dinner. Noise is deafening-among the noisiest restaurants in the city. A visibile attempt in "casualizing" the chef's previous restaurant (Excelsior). Had one of proprietary cocktails from Excelsior, but less expensive w/obviously much lower quality liquor. Would not order the "Grape Excess" cocktail--if you had them at Excelsior.

Food is uneventful. Too salty. They "brew" their own root beer... skip it, not worth it. Ambiance is wonderful, great place to meet for a drink for happy hour.
