We went to Assimba based on zagat and found a gem!!!! we were from out of town and were treated just like family. Try the vegi combo or 1/2 orders of any meat dish. the ethopian beer Meta (a lager) was perfect with our meal. SOOOO much food. great service. our family highly recommends this place. another local family was in there and said that they had been going to Assimba for 12 years. GREAT!!!!!!!

My first Ethiopian food experience, and still one of the best I've had in this country. Ethiopian food is nourishing and comforting and Assimba does it justice in every way. Just wash your hands, get 'em messy with great food, and wash 'em again...you'll get over that part.

Inexpensive ethiopian with a good veggie combo. The injera is a bit tangier than some places, which I'm told is authentic sourdough.

Great food and friendly service. The ambiance is "divey" although they are remodeling now, so it may be different soon. The spicy tibs is an excellent dish. We have a 2 year old and the owners are very accommodating of him roaming the restaurant. You will be hard-pressed to find better food more cheaply.
