Great place to have a steak. The steak is good and the atmosphere is perfect. The service is top notch.
A fine example of a quality steakhouse with professional, courteous, yet unobtrusive staff to match. The decor is somewhat lacking (privacy is non existent) but the piano man in the corner adds a nice touch. While overpriced, life sometimes demands a little overindulgence; particularly with food this good.
The place is not cheap, but you get what you come for! They have great athmosphere & friend wait staff. If your meal don't fill you up, wait until you finish your dessert for they always have great extra to make sure you don't leave their establishment unfulfilled! I can't wait for a location to open up in Bellevue so I don't have to cross the bridge! I love this place!
Poor coordination between front desk, waiters, bussers and capts. Very arrongant staff, who pay attention to the mechanics of service, omiting the most important person to person aspects. Table-side caeser salad preparation is unsanitary (ingrediants left out in carts all night). Expect a fair amount of pressure from El Gaucho staff to spend too much money. Despite the name, there is no Argentinean flavor to food.
Used to go here a lot four years ago and loved it. Left Seattle for 3 years, and recently came back. Food is 20% higher, and service/quality has dropped. Are the owners on leave? This was my place to go to get that perfect amount of steakhouse "kitsch", but it's been Seattle-ized. No more hotties or swank here, I'm afraid. Just pricey, well-cooked food for patrons in jeans, sweaters, and comfortable shoes. Somebody bring back my Gaucho!
