Disappointing service in this crowded and noisy restaurant. Food however was outstanding.

I went to the new Dedham branch for a low-key, upscale birthday celebration with my fiancee. The service was slightly delayed, but very courteous and helpful. The decor is not the high point, but the restaurant's layout and lighting maximize the effect. The meal was a little pricey, but the filet was tender and bursting with flavor, and the assiette au thon was a delicately seasoned take on Basque cuisine. Very enjoyable!

Haute cuisine or bistro? This restaurant is a little bit of each. The food is 'better than bistro', but so are the prices. The atmosphere is bistro, though, in a good sense. Top-notch food without the 'stuffiness' of many 'fine restaurants'. In a neighborhood filled with good restaurants, this one deserves repeat visits.

Appetizers were a little weak, but main courses and desserts were excellent. The kitchen accidentally prepared one too many creme brulees, so they gave it to us free for dessert. That was a really nice gesture.
