Eric the chief bartender is the biggest attraction of this nice Chestnut Hill bistro. Their cozy bar is quiet (no TV!) and comfortable even when it's full. The food is good enough for their very reasonable pricing.

For French Bistro fare, it's hard to find anything better in Boston or it's 'burbs. The menu is full of surprises -- most recently a warm beet and chevre salad with watercress that is a sublime melange of flavors, and braised short ribs that melted in your mouth.

Beware of overbooking! A dozen people were waiting for their tables when we arrived; we were seated 25 minutes after our reservation time. Incredibly, we were told, "No we did not overbook. It is just that some people have not left their tables yet!" Adjust your expectations of the meaning of "reservation" accordingly. Food was quite good. (Make sure your frites are crispy). Unfortunately, the same service as in Boston. And prices are up again.
