We had a weekend family gathering in Boston and had dinner Saturday night and brunch Sunday morning. Both were excellent. Old time dinner favorites such as the chowder, shrimp cocktail, "schrod," salmon, scallops, filet mignon, all were great. Parker House rolls are still special and so is the Boston creme pie, as is the creamy cheesecake. Wines generally aren't great but good and prices quite fair. Beautiful room, very special service.
Wonderful food. Well worth the money spoiling yourself at this historic spot.
The food is very good, the service is kind, and the room makes you never want to leave. Eating at Parker's is more fun than studying history, and more effective. Dining here is gentle pleasure, not the intense, hypercompetitive neurotic experience that is all too common these days.
We went for one reason only: Boston Cream Pie. Parker's invented it..it should be fantastic. Overpriced, dry, cold, and unappealing. Never again.
