A big night out for U. Conn. kids when parents visit. Lovely place with nice food but no competition means they are never pushed.

It was very busy during our visit, so the service suffered (as did the food quality). I would expect that being busy is normal for this restaurant, as it is basically a converted house. I believe that we just caught them on a bad night, as many of my friends list this as their all time favorite restaurant.

Quality varies from time to time and not the best bang-for-the-buck. But if you are in the UConn area, try it. Basic New England fare and the service is proper but not overly friendly. Try the beef and pork dishes for excellent flavors and diversity.
