Never a bad meal - great fried chicken, meat loaf and Po Boy sandwiches. Gotta get the fried oysters. If you are in the mood for something lighter, you MUST go for the Zydeco salad. One of the tastiest items on the menu. Decor matches the food - if you are expecting something fancy, then you are probalby not out looking for good ole Cajun food anyway. The service I must say is poor - forgetful & slow. Very frustrating, but the food is tops!
The place is just a consistent performer. I've been a patron for over 10 years now. Love the food. The jambalaya is fantastic, the pork chops are huge, the fried chicken is bone-suckin' good, and their house dressing should be bottled and sold, it's too good. The decor is, well, shabby...and the space is tight. If you're a claustrophobe, or prefer not to have Kiss figures glaring at you while you eat, then it's probably best to get take out.
Louisiana decor & live jazz create Bourbon Street feel. Cold Dixies and Blackened Voodoo beers add to the appeal.
Fun and firey sauces at this Mt. Vernon eatery. Great date spot and the weekend bands add to the festivities. Great Cajun eats.
Great New Orleans Flare in this off the path hideaway. Weekend music adds additional offering to this gem.
