Decor is perfect, service is lacking; perhaps because this was the end of the season staff seems overextended. Tables weren't cleared, etc. The food relies on very high quality ingredients & not on complex sauces. Appetizers are mostly good salads; lobster bisque-good. Pork chop looked like it came from a dinosaur-great! I liked the lamb but my lamb expert dissented. The goat cheese cake was very interesting & rich. Price is an issue.

Beautiful interior and exterior--well decorated rooms with appropriately lit rooms/ambiance. Our waitress was very personable and was a pleasure. Where to start with the food.....all 4 of us at dinner that night gave it a generous 7/10--nothing to write home about--certainly nothing great--but not terrible either--and DEFINATELY not worth the prices they are charging. Food seemd underseasoned and flat--not rushing back here anytime soon...

Incredibly disappointed in our visit. My pork chop was over-cooked, beefsteak tomatoes were bland (out of season, but then don't put them on the menu!), and the creme brulee was, well, un-brulee-ed. We waited 10 minutes for water once we sat down, refilled our own wine glass, and every person at our table was handed his or her plate. I don't expect that type of service for the money. I have to think this was a fluke, considering the reputation.

OK. You wanted celebrity chef NYC quality on LBI, you're going to have to pay NYC prices Our first visit was superb, our second was an encounter on the tasting menu with a rancid prawn, who, bless his soul was defended by every level of management. Well that's NY, O.K.? Batting 500, take a Russian Roulette chance. Stick to the regular menu where the chef doesn't get lost, try the Veal chop. It is such a romantic place, go for the exquisite porch

For brunch, lunch, dinner or tea Dine alone or with company Sondra's grace and the chef's deft touch Will make you smile and your cheeks blush Just be sure you have cash to be flush and never ever should you rush for a dining experience that's so rare nothing in LBI can compare.
