My dining partner and I feel that this place is overrated. We've had a number of good meals here, but none were fantastic. It's often unpleasantly crowded and the portions are small. In our opinion, there are better choices in Cape May, many of which are less expensive.

I don't know what George's problem was (GeorgeB5691), but I cannot imagine such an experience at Peter Shields. We have gone there for dinner for the past 5 years and have enjoyed every dinner we had and always had great service. Tracy greets you with her bright smile and makes sure your experience is great. We will spend our first stay over during our Christmas break. We are looking forward to that. Thumbs up for Peter Shields Inn.

One of the best. We have been coming to cape may for over 20 years and this is considered in our opinion as one of the top 3 in town. great food, service, incredible location and you cannot beat the old victorian home feeling. i had the lobster tail special. out of this world. i send clients & friends here. they all thank me for the recommendation.

it seems that there was no pleasing Egidioc3936 when he dined at the peter shields. they complained about everything including price even called the next day to try and get their money refunded. it is my experience that when someone calls themselves a "foodie" like he did they actually know nothing about food. we did everything to try and make him happy, even replaced his dish for another selection (which they loved).BEWARE OF THIS MAN!
