Why do you have to be Chinese or Chinese-speaking to get real service and real Chinese cuisine here?

Best Chinese restaurant in the area. Great service.

Easily the best Chinese in the New Haven region. Order exclusively from the Chinese menu, where the Water Beef and Water Fish (in a deeply spicy, Szechuan peppercorn-inflected sauce) are exemplary options, along with the snow pea leaves sauteed in garlic. The regular menu is about what you'd expect, but most of the ingredients taste more fresh.

In general, Chinese restaurants are disappointing with an American menu that is always the same and always bland. Royal Palace is a cut above but only a little above.

Great Chinese food with everything from Chinese-American staples like Chow Mein to exotic offerings on their special Chinese menu like Octopus in XO sauce. Great for take-out. More offerings than your average Chinese restaurant. Highlights include chicken with chinese eggplant and noodles with scallions and ginger.
