It had been several years since I had been here and recently went back. I thought the food was good gut not great. My lamb came out cold, the beef cheeks were wonderful. The noise level was way high and a bit hard to hear. Make sure to make a reservation and not get stuck in the front of the house. The pot de creme was exceptional

Great Franco-Californian food served in a brasserie setting. Some of the best service you'll find. Try the scallops.

Went for lunch with my girlfriend... French soup was very good, BLT was okay but the mediocre bacon overpowered the superb heirloom tomatoes. Vegggie sandwich had a goat cheese on it that almost tasted rotten but the sandwich was so good otherwise it worked out. An overpriced 20 but with a few small alterations could be a correctly priced 24. Also the Arnold Palmer tasted like aspartame...

Excellent service, good wine stewardship, and well-prepared food. More experimental than I expected the results for the July menu were great the night our group dined, esp the frisee, halibut and pork. The back dining room had the best sound level and I'm looking forward to returning ASAP.

In my opinion, and that of four other girls, this is the place in SF for a bougie-casual champagne brunch. I have always loved Eggs Benedict, but Absinthe's polenta twist really makes this dish stick in my mind. Of course, I was also totally Bay Area biased toward Jamie in the fourth season of Top Chef. She went home too early! But at least her departure meant she could come home to her vintage absinthe strainers (and the rest of us) earlier.
