This restaurant should not be top rated. It is extremely noisy and not romantic or relaxing. The food and service to not live up to all the hype. Don't waste your money or an evening of dining here.

this is a wonderful place for a romantic, relaxing, amazing dinner. love the pastas and the cheese course especially. wine list is extensive, service is perfect - not intrusive but very attentive. the room is beautiful - feels very european. food is fabulous, and the portions are actually pretty substantial. we went for an anniversary dinner and it was perfect. definitely go!

For Italian, this restaurant has no peer in SF. I can't differentiate with 1,2,3 the quality that comes from the kitchen. One night we were speaking of a favorite dish that "disappeared" from their menu. Within 10 minutes it appeared(a gnocchi dish)and was served at no charge. There aren't any like this anymore! Tops! Move over Babbo, NY---these guys have you! Since have returned and can say no less. Go!! Do y6ourself a dining favor!

Went for anniversary. The four course menu was wonderful, but we were absolutely stuffed. Had to take some of cheese course home. Don't miss the Lobster panzerotti or the ridged pasta with foie gras. Service is very polished. Unfortunately the sconces don't highlight the art on the walls for which the restaurant is named.

I love value; Acquerello delivers: It's a "sleeper" . . . delivers more than you'd expect . . .or want! GREAT FOOD, GREAT SERVICE (attention to detail; very deprecating to one diner who's Gluten Intolerant ! ) at a modicum of what "the Names" offer. Individual wine-pairings were "right on!".
