A terrific food together with friendly owner and staff. Very enjoyable. Well off the beaten track. A hidden gem.

First time diner here found food to be excellent. Pork loin was truly a thing of beauty. It's true it's not your 'nonna's' typical fare but there are plenty of other places in North Beach for that. This one excels at Istrian food. Nice wine list and the free valet parking is a godsend in North Beach.

We have dined here a number of times in the past. There is a new vibrancy and fresh energy. The meat dishes were too heavily sauced obscuring the flavor or the dish, this is easily fixed. The menu seems to be moving away from traditional Istrian cuisine, although we were assured the calamari will be back, as will we.

We visited Albona Ristorante for the first time, and we were very impressed. Agean/Croatian cuisine, and an interesting change from traditional Italian fare. And a bargain given the excellent service, food and ambiance. We'll be back.

The owner of this place makes every customer his "pizzano." Good food.
