Good Barcelona style tapas in a European outdoor cafe setting and feel.
Used to love this place but has recently been a disappointment. Judging by the crowds at neighboring Plouf and the relative scarcity at B44 at lunchtime, our unscientific observations appear to validate our viewpoint. This time paella was fairly bland and the appetizers were as listless as the service.
A good example of standard Catalan cuisine. Both good and bad dishes. The rabbit is the higher quality white meat type that tastes like chicken (sorry). I prefer the low class oily type. Stuffed squid is good & hearty. Good quality prosciutto. Authentic creme cataluyna. Good selection of wines both Spanish and Catalan including cave. Unfortunately, Catalan whites from the Pendes don't match with the food. Could we expand the bathroom facilities?
We love this place- the ambience, the food, the servers. Belden Pl. always feels as if we've left the country!
Food come close but never makes you think you are in Sevilla or Madrid.
